Michael Chapman 🎖️🪖

This first run is dedicated in honour of Corporal Ashley Birt -1st Topographical Survey Squadron, my cousin, who proudly served in Afghanistan and was KIA on 29th October 2011 with the event proudly sponsored by myself (Michael Chapman of Ray White Mooloolaba), my partner Danielle Pares, in conjunction with the team at The Local Beerwah and Young Veterans Sunshine Coast.

As an ex-serviceman myself (8/9 RAR in the 1990’s), I appreciate the sacrifices that are required to serve our country. My cousin Ashley and his brother Dale both served in Afghanistan, and my nephew is currently in his final medical stages of his application into the Army. My partner Danelle, also comes from a family of veterans with both her parents serving in the Navy for over 20 years, so the services are embedded in our families.

In the 20+ years since my discharge from the Army, I have beared witness many of the struggles that have been presented to those leaving the services. With this run and other fund-raising events planned, I hope to provide ongoing support to all service men and women who have proudly served our country.

With such a large congregation of ex-service personnel living locally, in addition to sponsoring this event, as a Real Estate Agent on the Sunshine Coast with Ray White Mooloolaba I also offer concessional commission rates to all current and ex-military personnel with an additional $500 from every sale being donated to Young Veterans Sunshine Coast to assist our local community of service men and women.

We look forward to seeing you show your support to the local veteran community by getting involved with your friends, family and local service men and women for the half-day ride starting and ending at The Local Beerwah on the 30th April 2023.
